In the Islamic Hijri (lunar) calendar, Ramadan is regarded as the holiest and most sacred month. Muslims hold the firm belief that the Prophet Muhammad was given the Message by the archangel Gabriel when he descended from heaven during this high month.
Muslims are required to fast during the month of Ramadan to increase their spiritual and physical submission to God; Specifically, Muslims must refrain from eating, drinking, smoking, and intimate relationships between husband and wife from dawn to dusk.
Here are the dates, the calendar, and a guide for Ramadan 2023 in India as we get ready to welcome the holiest of months.
Muslims observe a month-long fasting ritual known as Ramadan. When you fast, you don’t eat or drink for long periods of time. Fasting is an important part of Ramadan because everyone, including children under a certain age, except for those whose health prevents them from fasting, should observe it.

Additionally, they are prohibited from drinking water during the day. Every evening, the fast ends at sunset. Iftar is the name of this evening meal.
Iftar parties are very common and a wonderful way to spend time with friends and family. Kebabs, biryanis, haleem, shorbas, and other traditional dishes are served at Iftar. Ramadan or ighosdkf sldkfjsdlkf sdlkfjsdldkf sdlfkjsddlfjsdlfkj

Zakat al-Fitr
Before the special Eid al-Fitr prayer and the end of Ramadan, all Muslims should give Zakat al-Fitr, a traditional donation of a staple food item. You can help those who are less fortunate celebrate Eid al-Fitr with friends and family by donating to Zakat al-Fitr through Muslim Aid, and we will give food to the most in need.
You can give Zakat al-Fitr money at any time during the month; However, similar to Zakat, many individuals choose to donate on Laylat al-Qadr, also known as the Night of Power, which falls within the final ten days of Ramadan. During the special Night of Power, rewards are multiplied.
For guidance on when to make your donation, refer to our Ramadan calendar for 2023.
You can donate your Zakat al-Fitr to Muslim Aid this year for just £5 per person, and we will provide a nutritious meal to a poor person. This Ramadan, please give generously to help us provide for communities worldwide.
